Our Information Technology department is currently seeking an application system administrator to install software and support the Enterprise Data and Reporting team's application environments, including SAS, Cognos and Anaconda server environments. Please note - this is not an IT infrastructure role.
Starting Pay: The pay range for this position is $55,000 - $85,000 annually. The pay determination is based on the applicant's education, experience, location, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on company and individual performance.
Be Ready To:
Software support
• test (operational readiness/smoke test) third-party application software, upgrades and patches on servers
• maintain third-party software on servers, including SAS, Cognos, Anaconda Server and Python libraries
• manage generic and service accounts (e.g. change passwords, decommission)
• validate and monitor software/server access
• Python and Anaconda troubleshooting, package management, configurations
• evaluate and recommend third-party software upgrades
• optimize/configure third-party software on servers for multiple service areas
• configure and install third-party software, upgrades and patches on servers
• optimize generic and service accounts (e.g. change passwords)
• coordinate software/hardware installs and upgrades with IT Infrastructure resources
• provide debugging assistance and script management for development teams
• set up and maintain application user permissions
• review application-related documentation to identify and communicate pertinent upgrades/enhancement packs
• analyze the effects of software/configuration changes on other systems
• work together with development team (if applicable) to coordinate version releases and software upgrades
• PowerBI - Administrative level experience beneficial Environment support
• monitor storage in regard to supported environments and request storage changes
• monitor log files associated with third-party applications and automate monitoring and deleting of log files based on retention guidelines
• make recommendations for system performance improvement and availability
• provide on-call support (i.e. incident management/outages)
• validate Firewall, LoadBalancer and Server Configuration changes based on software and service area needed
• validate/verify system backups are in place
• develop and submit firewall requests
• plan and coordinate disaster recovery activities (i.e. environment, documentation, etc.)
• perform troubleshooting
• handle the start and completion of application services
• coordinate with team and IT groups to develop or enhance existing solutions
• research new technologies, versions and product releases, making recommendations based on impact
• evaluate topologies making recommendations to optimize environments for changes in services
• provide technical assistance to developers and other IT service areas
• create and update scripts to automate system administration tasks
• review system architecture design for potential system limitations, compliance with architecture standards and make recommendations
• use third-party diagnostic tools and work with vendors to troubleshoot application issues Administrative:
• proactively recommend service area process improvements
• understand and apply change, incident, release and problem management processes
• understand and correctly follow service area/IT procedure, processes and standards
• understand and follow internal and external audit compliance requirements Leadership
• serve as the technical lead for upgrades of third-party application to new version
• manage service requests (i.e. priority, coordination of tasks, reporting)
• assist with resource assignments (i.e. project work efforts, non-project work efforts, on-call support)
• assist with pager and support rotation schedule
• perform change coordinator responsibilities
• knowledge share/cross-training with associates
Be equipped with:
• knowledge of system application architecture, database schemas and development tools
• experience with supporting, troubleshooting, and problem-solving production issues
• familiar with .NET, IIS, SQL Server, GitHub, Kubernetes
• familiar with Python and Anaconda troubleshooting, package management, configurations
• PowerBI - administrative level experience is beneficial
• familiar with Linux and Windows Servers
• moderate understanding of web service technologies
• experience with MQ and MIM
• familiar with XML technologies
